School of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Suqian University was established in 2002. The school now has 5 undergraduate programs, which are Civil Engineering, Intelligent Construction, Engineering Management, Geomatics Engineering, and Urban and Rural Planning. The school has been successively awarded "Advanced Collective in Suqian Education System" and "Advanced Primary Party Organization in Jiangsu Province".
The discipline of Civil Engineering was selected as a key construction discipline in Jiangsu Province during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and a key discipline in the 14th Five-Year Plan period. The programs in Civil Engineering and Surveying Engineering were included in the list of provincial first-class undergraduate programs. Additionally, the Civil Engineering program was chosen for the Jiangsu Excellence Engineer Education and Training Program 2.0 and the third phase of the Jiangsu Higher Education Brand Specialty Construction Project.
The school has 91 teaching and administrative staff members, among whom there are
10 professors, 23 associate professors or equivalent titles. The school has employed a number of influential professors, scholars, and enterprise experts. The school has more than 1,400 students. In the past five years, students have won more than 400 provincial-level or higher awards in discipline competitions. The faculty has paid more attention to cultivating internationalized talents. For example, it has established international students exchange programs with The National University of Malaysia.
The school has established an Intelligent Construction Industry College and 29 stable off-campus practical teaching bases through school-enterprise co-construction. In the past three years, the school has undertaken more than 70 municipal and departmental level and higher research projects, and more than 80 horizontal projects.
