June 27, 2024 - The inauguration ceremony of the Low-altitude Smart Mapping Research Institute and the Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Conference was successfully held at our university under the theme "Smart Low-altitude Mapping Takes Off in Suqian." The event established an innovative platform for integrating industry and education in the low-altitude economy sector. Distinguished attendees included Ding Hongyan, Standing Committee Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President; Deng Yunlan, Party Committee Member and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary of Jiangsu Surveying and Mapping Engineering Institute; Tian Xianfeng, Senior Police Commissioner of Suqian Public Security Bureau and President of Suqian UAV Application Association; and Hu Wei, Group Vice President of Shanghai Huace Navigation Technology Ltd., among other representatives from enterprises, government, and academia.
In her address, Vice President Ding Hongyan emphasized that against the backdrop of rapid development in the low-altitude economy, the university remains committed to its "local and application-oriented" educational positioning. Leveraging the Geomatics Engineering program of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the university actively aligns with the practical needs of the low-altitude economy industry, promotes interdisciplinary research and applied talent cultivation, and deepens cooperation with enterprises and local governments to contribute academic expertise to Suqian's low-altitude economic development.
The event featured three significant unveiling ceremonies: Vice President Ding Hongyan and Luo Xuanxuan, Deputy General Manager of Suqian Transportation Industry Group, jointly unveiled the "Low-altitude Smart Mapping Research Institute." Jiang Lianjie, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and Fan Hang, Training Director of Shanghai Xinsu Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., unveiled the "Civil UAV Pilot License Training Center." Zhu Fangzhi, Dean of theSchool of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Luo Yanbing, General Manager of Shanghai Konglian Zhihang Technology Services Co., Ltd., unveiled the "Corporate Training Base."
During the donation ceremony, seven enterprises, including Shanghai Huace Navigation (donating equipment worth 2 million RMB), Guangzhou South Surveying & Mapping (650,000 RMB), and Nanjing Beidou Henghan (600,000 RMB), collectively donated UAV equipment and photogrammetry teaching systems valued at 3.9 million RMB.
On-site, Suqian University signed strategic cooperation agreements with nine enterprises and institutions and established industry-academia-research collaboration agreements with two companies, fostering a synergistic innovation mechanism for "joint talent cultivation, collaborative technology research, and shared achievements." Representatives from Shenzhen Feima Robotics and Shanghai Shuangying Aviation shared application cases in low-altitude remote sensing monitoring and UAV inspection, providing practical references for collaboration. This formed a coordinated development model of "government guidance, university support, and enterprise leadership," laying a solid foundation for regional innovation and the high-quality growth of the emerging low-altitude economy.
The event was co-hosted by Suqian University, Suqian Association for Science and Technology, and Suqian Transportation Industry Group, and organized by theJiangsu Province Engineering Research Center of Prefabricated Building and Intelligent Construction, Suqian University Intelligent Construction Industry College, and Suqian Civil Engineering and Architecture Society, with support from the Geodesy and Location Services Committee of the Jiangsu Surveying and Mapping Geographic Information Society, Jiangsu Surveying and Mapping Engineering Institute, and Suqian Public Security Bureau.
Over 200 participants attended, including representatives from the university's Office of Scientific Research, Academic Affairs Office, and Local Services Office, as well as faculty, students, and industry delegates.
