Recently, the 2025 National Teaching Innovation and Talent Development Competition for Surveying and Mapping Disciplines concluded in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. Co-organized by the Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping and the Education and Development Committee of the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association, hosted by Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and supported by Guangzhou South Surveying & Mapping Technology Co., Ltd., the competition attracted 232 teams from 81 universities across China. After intense competition, 69 teams from 49 institutions received awards. Among them, faculty members Xu Huan and Qin Yuluo from our School, under the mentorship of experienced professors including Sun Xiaorong and Associate Professor Guo Bing, secured a First Prize (awarded to top 10% of participants) and a Second Prize (top 15%), respectively. Their success demonstrated not only strong teaching capabilities but also the School’s tradition of fostering young faculty through mentorship.
The competition is recognized in the 2022 National Higher Education Faculty Development Index as a key benchmark for teaching excellence, making it one of the most prestigious events in the field.
