On the afternoon of March 25, our university held a seminar on the transformation and development of the School of Civil Engineering and Architectural. Guo Zhaobing, President of the university, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Experts including Professor Shi Qingxuan from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Professor Ma Yingying from South China University of Technology, Professor Wu Wei from Chongqing Jiaotong University, Professor Lu Shoufeng from Nanjing Tech University, and Professor Yang Xiaoguang from Tongji University were invited to participate in the seminar. Lu Haixia, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee, Minister of the United Front Work Department and Director of the Academic Affairs Office, heads of relevant functional departments, members of the leading team of the School of Civil Engineering and Architectural, and teacher representatives attended the meeting.

At the meeting, relevant responsible persons of the School of Civil Engineering and Architectural made work reports on the transformation and development of the college, the transformation of the Civil Engineering major, and the establishment of the Traffic Engineering major respectively; the participating experts conducted research and demonstration from the aspects of scientificity, feasibility and forward-looking, and put forward constructive opinions and suggestions; Shi Qingxuan, Ma Yingying and Wu Wei delivered special reports on "the transformation of Civil Engineering discipline and major", "the construction of the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation", and "the construction of Traffic Engineering major" respectively.

On behalf of the university, Guo Zhaobing expressed his sincere gratitude to all experts for their precise guidance and valuable suggestions. He pointed out that scientifically planning the transformation and development of disciplines and majors is an important measure for the university to further promote the "Discipline Construction Improvement Year" campaign, and also a specific action to implement the requirements of the Ministry of Education and the Department of Education on the adjustment and optimization of university disciplines and majors. The college should anchor its goals, clarify the development direction, connect with the "Double Excellence Project" of applied universities, fit the new positioning of Suqian's "Five Major Centers", and promote the integrated development of disciplines, majors and the college; focus on connotation, strengthen interdisciplinary integration and digital empowerment, integrate high-quality resources inside and outside the university, coordinate the professional adjustment and the cultivation of master's degree programs, and create the college's characteristics; improve capabilities, strengthen the transformation of the faculty, give play to the advantages of provincial platforms, produce high-level achievements, enhance the visibility of social services, promote the accelerated transformation of the college, and realize high-quality development.
