On May 7, 2025, Wang Yu, the deputy general manager of the Integration and Software Research Center of China Telecom Corporation Limited and a first-class expert in the field of cloud computing and artificial intelligence of the China Telecom Group, was invited to the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture for academic exchanges and delivered an academic report titled "DeepSeek Makes Low-altitude Economy Smarter" in Room D107. All the teachers and some students of the School of Architectural Engineering attended the meeting, which was presided over by Peng Ningbo, the vice dean of the School of Architectural Engineering.
Expert Wang Yu provided a detailed elaboration on DeepSeek, covering its introduction along with that of large models, its application scenarios (especially how it can create new value in the low-altitude economy), local implementation cases in Suqian, methods for transitioning from using DeepSeek to mastering it, as well as its deployment models and security protection solutions.
Faculty and students were highly engaged, participating in lively discussions with the expert. The lecture offered constructive insights for teachers seeking to deepen their understanding of AI and integrate intelligent technologies into their research and teaching practices.
