To continuously improve teachers’ scientific research capacity and advance the application work for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Launch Meeting of 2026 NSFC Application of the School of Civil Engineering and Architectural was held in Room E209 of the college on the afternoon of October 17. Professor Yang Xiaoguang from Tongji University was invited to deliver a guiding report. The meeting was presided over by Dean Zhu Fangzhi, and Xu Weikai, Vice Dean of the college, as well as all doctoral teachers, attended the meeting.

At the beginning, Dean Zhu Fangzhi briefly introduced Professor Yang Xiaoguang to the participating teachers and extended a warm welcome. Then, Vice Dean Xu Weikai summarized the 2025 NSFC application work, and clarified the work plan and measures for the 2026 application. Xu Weikai analyzed and discussed the review comments of the 2025 NSFC projects, fully affirmed the strengths, and encouraged teachers to build up confidence.

Afterwards, Professor Yang Xiaoguang elaborated on NSFC application in detail from three aspects:

First, persist in efforts and accumulate scientific research achievements;

Second, actively participate in academic conferences, adopt a problem-oriented approach, and keep abreast of research trends and advanced teams in their own fields;

Third, take the initiative to learn cutting-edge new technologies and methods in the industry, so as to provide technical support for writing grant applications.

Professor Yang also welcomed teachers to discuss with him and promised to spare no effort to help improve the quality of their applications.

Finally, Dean Zhu Fangzhi expressed sincere gratitude to Professor Yang and placed high expectations on the teachers. Vice Dean Xu Weikai made specific arrangements for the subsequent application work. The teachers stated that they would work hard on writing their applications in the coming period and strive for excellent results in the 2026 NSFC application.
